High School Math Acceleration Summer Program

An advanced summer opportunity for PTHSD high school students!

This acceleration program is an opportunity for current, highly motivated high school students to take a full-length course for transcripted high school credit over the summer. This summer we are offering three courses: Geometry Honors, Computer Science with Python and Personal Finance, all of which will be taught by our own PTHSD teachers!

Why take a summer course? There are several reasons why you might choose to take a course over the summer. Many students are preparing themselves for college and want to reach the highest level of courses available by senior year. Taking Geometry over the summer can help ensure that you are eligible to take the highest level math course possible as a senior in high school. (Taking higher level math a little earlier than usual may also help improve SAT scores.) Other students are interested in taking Personal Finance to fill a graduation requirement over the summer to “make room” for an additional elective during the school year.
